Legally minded folks, I need some insight on GNU general public licensing.

I created a dataset based on data from a game. Another person has come to me and is asking to use my dataset in an app they're creating which will be released "to a public repo with a GPLv3 license"

Is there anything about approving this that would take rights out of my hands? I have no intention of monetizing the dataset; it's the reverse, I want to make sure I can always provide the data to everyone free of charge.
