I feel like it's a byproduct of Netflix movies improving, but it goes back to something that we've said for a while...

When you release a new movie, you aren't just competing with what's in theaters. You're competing with everything that's ever been released before. Lackluster movie titles with lazy marketing just aren't enough for the current generation of teens. They're the ones we've expected for a while, the ones who have grown up in a Second Screen Society. Movie theaters just don't have the same cachet with them that they did with all who came before.
