they're huge in countries with large first generation diasporas. easiest way to send money back home.

they advertise to the Philippine and Indonesian communities here, and it's one of the only easy ways for individuals to get money to a lot of African countries (I have a friend that started basically an African version of Airbnb, and anything approaching seamless payment from renter tto owner is their biggest problem).
