When I was a kid we had both Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday off. We were pissed when we lost Lincoln because we also already had Columbus Day off.
There's another wikipedia entry about President's Day which says the term came about due to advertisers. It's still technically Washington's Birthday.
