In response to "Q for ST: Why do some novels I read put "[novel title]: A Novel" on the cover? Is there some significance to that? I know it's a novel. -- nm" by Baronan the Accuser

But it's also very old school - Pride and Prejudice: A Novel, Wuthering Heights: A Novel, Vanity Fair: A Novel Without a Hero, etc so it may just be about adding some snob value

- Also, maybe customers don't know it's a novel. If I write a novel about (say) the Battle of Gettysburg, I'll have to call it Gettysburg: A Novel - Roger More Mar 8, 07:45 6
