In response to "Q for ST: Why do some novels I read put "[novel title]: A Novel" on the cover? Is there some significance to that? I know it's a novel. -- nm" by Baronan the Accuser

My guess would be if it has a somewhat ambiguous title, you'll be able to search for it.

Like if it was a book called 'Love song', it would get lost in hundreds of other hits, but if you call it "Love Song: A novel", then it streamlines it a bit.
