So, just came up from Up: A- (spoils)

Overall it's the Pixar movie I liked the least since "Cars" but damn, I was so blown away by the first part (up until the house rises up). It has such depth and genuine emotion to it, and sets up the character so well... Pity that then the adventure plot itself is rather uninteresting (saving an annoying bird, meh). Yes, there is still a lot of fun stuff (liked the talking dogs), but it felt very by the numbers compared to their past efforts.
Also, this is a minor quibble, but I really didn't like how Carl goes from fragile old man to action hero at the end, and overall I felt the movie asked a bit too many suspensions of disbelief (how easily they get to Paradise Falls, for example, or how can the antagonist still be alive since he was an adult when Carl was a little kid, or why Dug betrays forgets his mission and joins with the heroes)
Again, the first 30 minutes are probably some of the best stuff Pixar has produced (or at least, that I have liked the most). I was suprised by all the adult content in it. But then again, movies like Bambi and the Lion King had a lot of dramatic and adult stuff in them.
