The actual adventure in itself (the bird business) just felt very disconnected from his character. The bird really means little to him or his child aspirations, and for this very same reason it meant nothing to me. There was a lot of potential in having the antagonist being his childhood hero, but it's not really exploited and the character in itself is a stock villain.
