Again, this didn't feel like anything I thought Carl had a problem with.

The movie to me, was about a guy that has to get over the mourning for his wife and his unfulfilled fantasies, and realize how great his life has been even though he didn't get what he wanted at the begining. On this level, the movie is *fantastic*. All this business that he has also has to "open up" stop being grumpy and go save Kevin just felt tacked on and by the numbers to me. It felt like the writers throwing stuff and trying to make it stick to justify the action scenes.
Again, it is just my opinion.
