I thought by showing comparables or adding some additional thoughts this might be more helpful. or does it really not matter? Any thoughts welcome!
Captain Marvel - $1.041B: Domestically it's 8th in the MCU, and WW it's 7th. Should pass Guardians domestically. Fantastic.
Bohemian Rhapsody - $899M: Almost there.
HTTYD 3 - $509M: #2 made $621M and #1 $495M. Domestically it's behind both previous movies - $20M behind #2 nand $60M behind #1. Certainly will finish $100M+ less than #2. Moral of the story is that they waited way too long. 4 and nearly 5 years between sequels killed them.
Alita - $404M: $85M of that total is domestic, which is actually decent. China severely disappointed, but it was able to push to $400M without that market.
Green Book - $309M: Continues to crush it in China - $71M which is crazy.
Us - $220M: Get Out made $255M WW, so this should top that.
Dumbo - $219M: $170M budget. Huge flop. Won't top the domestic take of the 1996 101 Dalmatians movie, and comes nowhere close to Cinderella, Maleficent, etc. WW it trails Alice in Wonderland 2, 101 Dalmatians, Oz, etc. by a ton.
Shazam - $194M: A little to early to tell. Great for a stand alone that had a cheaper budget compared to most superhero movies ($100M).
Five Feet Apart - $63M: For a movie that cost something like $12-15M this is great. Domestic run of $42M so far is wonderful.
Wonder Park - $62M: Looking at it's release pattern, there are a lot of big markets (all of Europe) to go. While this is clearly not a blockbuster, it's slowly getting up there so it's not a gigantic flop. Cost $100M to make, this ain't good. That said, since it's becoming a TV show, I guess any exposure is good exposure? On the upside, there is a lot of foreign markets left to open.
Pet Sematary - $51M: Appears to be on par or slightly behind some remakes (Evil Dead, Halloween 2007, Poltergeist) but could change over the next few weeks.
