It devalued the significance.
Obviously he is strong enough to hold one but there was no reaction from him or the stone at all.
We can’t act like everything they set up in the preceding films matters and at the same time say that something they set up as significant doesn’t matter at all.
All it would take is a couple lines of dialogue before they flip the switch. ‘These stones are all powerful. We’ve seen what they can do. Do we need to worry about them when we find them? Yes. That why we made these cases. Each team has one. Find the stone and collect them in this.’
Instead, it’s just ‘hands in the middle. Go travel through time and grab these rocks. Stick them in your pocket and bring them back.
It’s inconsistent.
