I feel like the time travel plot was a little bit of a cop-out. I especially didn't like the final bit with cap because it really flies in the face of most of the time travel "lore" that the MCU seems to work under.
The only way, as I understand it, that cap would show up as an old man at the end would be if we flipped timelines from the one that cap left to go back to return the stones and are now in the timeline where he stayed and lived out his life. Not sure how I feel about that but it certainly wasn't the "put everything back the way it was" that they talked about (and was essentially impossible to begin with). I suppose it is a bit of a nitpicky thing, but I just didn't like the whole solution to the problem so it doesn't sit well with me.
