I've asked this before, but why does Disney underestimate every single one of their mega-blockbuster openings?

Pretty much anyone could tell you that with a 3 hour running time, unprecedented attendance, and great WOM that Endgame would have a much smaller than 22.7% Sunday dropoff.

Are they intentionally undercutting their openings? To what end?
