a guy halfassedly tried to mug me and a friend in paris. riding an escalator up from a metro stop, he says "give me your money." in french, but in a

thick west african accent. I don't get it, and have to have him repeat it a couple times. he does, and eventually punches his fist a few times for emphasis. I told him I only had two francs, but he could have them if he wanted. my friend doesn't speak a word of french and is confused as hell as to what's going on. I tell him the guy wants money. he's all "why? what's going on? I don't get it!" at this point we're at the top of the escalator, and the guy calls us idiots, gives us a dismissive wave of the hand, and walks off.
