In the same way it was asked why would anybody need more that 640K of memory associated with an operating system

Applications and uses will expand into the bandwidth
Alternately, it could be used to eliminate the need for any local network as well as seamless hand off between fixed and mobile.
Instead of having your laptop WiFi connect at home, one could just use a 5G connection everywhere.
With the much higher bandwidth, the types of applications that could be run on a cloud basis, could allow one to run applications that currently require desktop type power from a large phone or small tablet
