Mind you, I work in video, so I can tell the difference (but it takes me 2 minutes to switch to a 4K setup, so I usually don't bother). I also think for the vast majority of people, they don't need more than 1080p on a regular sized TV (different story on a 65incher 5 feet away)
There comes a point where it's pointless to improve a technology. We could have 16K TVs, our eyes couldn't see the difference.
I was under the impression that 5G was just a cell phone thing, and I was wondering who really needed faster speed. Is it really a big deal if uploading an picture on Instagram takes 3 seconds instead of 2?
But if there are other use for the technology, then sure, why not.
