Moved into a new house where new builds were still going up around us.
Lots of sandstone was being dug up and discarded, so I would gather it in the trunk of my car and use it to build flower beds.
I dropped a piece and it smashed my finger between it and the car frame. But my ring protected my finger.
It was bent into an oval and the week it was off being fixed is the only time I haven't worn it in 14 years.
May you and the new Mrs. enjoy many years of wedded bliss. :-)
