I'm not really inclined to trust the body shop guys opinion on this

but he seemed to indicate there was some option where we could keep the car even in this situation BUT my understanding of that is it screws us over. The car will still be marked on the title as totalled, insurance probably wouldn't cover us properly anymore and while we might have the car and some payout (minus the salvage value of the car), I don't think anyone would recommend we take that course of action.
Maybe I'm wrong and this pans out but I'm prepared for the worst which totally sucks
