Well now, that was an adventure. I went to go outside, but the doorknob was broken.

The condo units here typically only have one access, not counting the balcony - most of them can't use the balcony as an exit.
Anyway, what happened was that the doorknob for the main entrance to our unit busted, so that it couldn't open from the inside - it just spun in circles. It clearly wasn't catching on anything. I could have disassembled it and fixed it, but it was as old as the deadbolt that broke a few months ago, so I decided to get a new one without first disassembling it. Which meant that I had to go out a different door - the patio door.
My comment: "I'm so glad we bought a unit that has garden access!" :) Slipped out the patio door, into the building from the common property elevated garden entrance, and confirmed that the outside of the doorknob works fine, just the inside was busted. Deadbolt was still working fine. Of course, then I made the foolish mistake of closing the door on myself, so I had to go out on the patio again, but that's no big deal.
Headed out to Canadian Tire, bought a new knob kit, came back, and had it installed in just a few minutes.
It's the second thing I fixed today (the first being printing from my mac :)).
