for parmesan, don't even need to cook to use it. shaved slices with apples = v. good, for example.

i saw tj's now sells slices of parm. that they suggest may be used in sandwiches or on pizza.
that might be too much, since, for me anyway, a little goes a long way (diet-friendly!); but i could see it being a more stable way to make it last longer than pre-ground or shredded non-kraft-can type.
