~3 weeks ago I handed out an assignment that was a quasi-lab and was done in groups in class. Most kids finished it within the class period, some took an extra day or two, it was fine. Slacker kid, who I *saw taking part in the group* has not yet handed in the assignment (he is marginal to pass). I have reminded him, if not every day, at least every other day to get his shit in because... June (tomorrow is basically my last day to evaluate anything). I get an email from his resource teacher today "do you have a copy of this assignment? He can't find it in his binder" (this guy's tearing his hair out just as much as me about him so it's not a coddling situation from him). It's like, Jesus fuck would you just do the work when I assign it and make everyone's life easier instead of waiting until the literal last minute?
