I thought by showing comparables or adding some additional thoughts this might be more helpful. or does it really not matter? Any thoughts welcome!
Avengers Endgame - $2.744B: $44M behind Avatar. Last week I noted it would be short without a re-release, and now that has been announced. Will be close.
Aladdin - $733M: This is wonderful, especially after the flop that was Dumbo. Will catch Maleficent this weekend, although Jungle Book is a $235M away. But this is a great win.
Detective Pikachu - $421M: Budget was $150M, so this is an okay total, but not huge. Overall enough to greenlight a sequel.
Dumbo - $351M: $170M budget, flop. Run is over.
Godzilla 2 - $344M: The last one made $529M, which included a $200M domestic gross. This won't match either the domestic or foreign take. Will cross $100M domestic soon though.
John Wick 3 - $277M: First two movies made $89M and $172M WW. This is a great win for Lionsgate.
Dark Phoenix - $207M: A lot has already been said. It's still $90M behind 2000's X-Men, and $335M (whoa) behind Apocalypse.
Rocketman - $138M: It's not apples to apples to compare to Bohemian, but that made $800M, on a $215 domestic take. Japan is still to come, and Bohemian made $100M there. This won't hit that level, but it'll be interesting to see if it can hit $200M+.
Secret Life of Pets 2 - $163M: Ouch as well. The first made $875M WW, and this definitely won't get close. This effectively shuts the franchise down. This will be lucky to get to $250M. What happened here?
Men In Black International - $111M: The others made between $442 and $624M worldwide. This certainly won't get to those levels.
The Hustle - $78M: Run is about over.
A Dog's Journey - $62M: This is getting killed. The first movie made $205M WW so this is especially shocking.
Ma - $53M: Budget was only $5M so they'll take this. Wasn't as big of a hit as they wanted, but it will suffice.
Long Shot - $44M
Brightburn - $28M: Ooof, and run is over.
Uglydolls - $22M: My goodness this is bad. The budget was cheap too at $45M. Run is over.
Late Night - $8M: Amazon doesn't know how to open it's movies where it's the distributor.
