is it crazy to consider going to a caribbean resort for a summer vacation?

i know it's already hot and sunny here, but i swear i'd spend less money going to cuba or the dominican for a week than if is stayed at home and did nothing.

(deals right now at about $600Cdn per person for flight, hotel, all inclusives meals and booze, etc, including taxes.)
