Tony was *adamant* that if people came back, the timeline of what had transpired since they left had to stay intact as well. He didn't want to lose his daughter.
So the Blip was the solution. When Strange and Spider-Man showed up at the battle, very little time had passed for them. Hulk's snap had brought them back, just like the students reappearing at the school - we just didn't see that part.
I have huge issues with the concept. What about people who had been in planes where the pilot got blipped, and the plane crashed?
What about people who killed themselves during the blip due to the loss? Or got murdered by Ronin (Hawkeye's rage persona)?
What about people who blip back and there's a wall there? What about people who blip back and the building is gone and they fall to their deaths? Or as we see on SHEILD, what if their whole *PLANET* is gone?
It's ... not a clean solution. It's really really really dirty. But I guess that's where the storytelling lives. In the dirt and the muck of the aspects of life that suck.
