The biggest issue with pizza chains (especially Pizza Hut) is how much it can vary from one store to another.

If you find a good one, Pizza Hut is by far the best chain. The problem is that most aren't good.
I'm still annoyed that they stopped having the really good peppers (the might have been pepadew peppers under a different name) and the honey sriracha drizzle.
I actually liked Papa John's of the chains and also found it to be consistent. I just can't support Papa John.
Dominoes might also be consistent, but I can't eat it. There is something on the bottom of the crust that makes their pizza inedible to me. It isn't on the deep dish, but they never fully cook those. I can never understand how anyone considers them the best.
I almost never eat chain pizza. I can find better stuff. I understand that a lot of people aren't as fortunate.
