this is a fairly well documented fact.
What this is is part pandering to particular ag groups and part "well why are you saying what I did 40 years ago is bad now?" - you know, cause eating a bunch of processed carbohydrates has really worked out well for public health. We have, in fact, learned a lot more about nutrition since then.
And no one's stopping anyone from feeding their kid chocolate milk 24/7. There's no food gestapo.
