So, I get from New York's perspective.

Thor is a fun player who can't stay healthy. Stroman and him are about the same on the field, but Stroman's better lately.
New York can shuffle their prospects out and bring in new ones while getting a more reliable player with similar talent.
In the offseason, it's a good move. Right now, it's just kind of strange.
