Not trying to start something, but I've always found female comedians funnier than male ones. Some thoughts inside for perusal:

Maybe it's the topics that are discussed or that I couldn't relate to a lot of the stand-up that was popular when I was a teen. Maybe it's the gay thing? IDK to be honest. When I was a teen it was in the bro comedy era (i.e. Dane Cook), and I didn't think any of that was funny. And that dominated the comedy central airwaves. In fact, I laughed so much harder at Comic View of BET rather than Comedy Central. I just connected differently with that comedy.
For example, I've seen Kathy Griffin, Whitney Cummings, Lisa Lampanelli multiple times and they crack me up. I love the Roast comedy, but that's so stereotype of bitchy drama/gay. Old school comic view (despite half the people being super homophobic) was fantastic. I own Def Comedy jam on VHS.
