Yeah, that's likely what got cleared. There have been interviews where they've said they had made beats and had no idea what samples were used as

they'd layered so many on top of one another and with others had changed it by adjusting tempo, octave, etc.
It's crazy what they made.
Though the simple sound of a straw going in and out of a McDonald's cup is one of the best samples they made.
