I'd argue that if you draw attention to his shirt at all, it's going to invite hostility on his part.

I'd say that wearing a political statement on his shirt - a statement of exclusion, frankly - regardless of the affiliation is a demonstration of a lack of professionalism and is cause enough to not use him again.
