You know how some businesses have "loss leaders"? Some conglomerates have a product category I'd call "forgotten losses".

Turning a "forgotten loss" back into a going concern is a difficult, nearly-impossible undertaking. Especially when the ownership changes from a massive conglomerate with bottomless pockets to a tiny self-built business with zero outside investment. It requires radical changes to the entire underpinnings of the business and technology stack. It requires a tectonic shift in the forgotten loss's own "loss leader" balance sheet.

And until things are stable, there's a very real potential for total collapse. Once that's sorted out and things have stabilized, yeah, then it's time to talk about the exciting things that are going on. Because that was the reason in the first place: resurrect the forgotten, so it can thrive.
