People who live near me are flooding nextdoor with posts about being charged $1000/month for their water usage. When they complain, someone is sent out to -- (edited)

read the meter and they are told it is a mistake but they have to pay and wait for it to be credited back because it's too late in the billing cycle to fix it. Others are posting they got the same bill, but didn't complain or check and just paid it. Who uses that much water!?
