That's an a-hole take on it, but...

"I want to come visit the country."
"No."
"Okay, just to visit my family."
"Okay, visit your family but you can't verbally attack the country."
"In that case I don't want to visit."

If you can't do one without the other it makes it look like the other request was disingenuous.
