Here's some of my thoughts: I'll try and avoid plot spoilers, but the plot is a mess so anyways...

First act starts strong for 20 minutes, but problems quickly arise when you realize that the best song is the first one. The book of the show is just bad. And here's way, way too much of it. This should be 1:30, not 2:45. The second act is simply a mess. The obviously illogical plot then comes to the obvious conclusion in Act 2. Except they want you to feel banged over the head by it again and again.
It's a show that sells huge on Broadway for teens, which is why it has done well. It's for people who want to feel like their sense of selfishness is okay, and in a typical millennial sense (I'm one so I can say this) feel acknowledged. The outcome is also comical (no spoils) and we all are just supposed to assume that the ending they showed is it, and there's nothing beneath the surface.
The worst thing though is it just debuted 3 years ago, and it's already dated. It's feels like a leftover early 2010s musical.
Positives:
That said, the lead in the tour was great (DC is his final stop), and the whole show hinges on his performance. If he's good he raises the bar around him. The role is certainly a Tony role, but the show is not.
The staging and lighting, game over, wonderful. I was really impressed.
