i just haven't loved them, but i feel compelled to read them because they are such a phenom and i figure, if you want to know what's going on in the world - you gotta 'know' your giant pop-cultural events, right?
(besides, i have friends who love them, this way they can talk about them in front of me and not have to worry about spoilers. :) )
