WW Box Office Update: Lion King hits $1.5B!, OUATIH continues to do really well, Hobbs and Shaw helped by a massive China opening. -- (edited)

I thought by showing comparables or adding some additional thoughts this might be more helpful. or does it really not matter? Any thoughts welcome!

Lion King - $1.512B: Surpassed Beauty and the Beast as the highest grossing remake WW. HUGE.

Spiderman Far From Home - $1.116B: The first Spider-Man movie to hit $1B WW! Captain Marvel looks to be next up and it's $12M away at the moment. CIt looked tough, but the re-release is hoping to beat it.

Aladdin - $1.043B: WOW. No one thought that $1B was possible. Japan (over $105M!) and Korea ($88M!) have been HUGE for the movie. Likely will finish 4th Domestically behind Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Jungle Book. 3rd all time for Disney remake WW.

Toy Story 4 - $1.031B: 3rd of the 21 Pixar movies domestically, and will finish in that spot - behind Incredibles 2 and Finding Dory. Highest grossing Pixar movie ever in Mexico beating Coco. 3rd WW behind Incredibles 2/Dory.

Hobbs and Shaw - $589M: Overall this isn't amazing for the F&F franchise as a whole, and rumored breakeven was $550-600M WW depending on the domestic gross. That said, HUGE China opening pushed this to nearly $600M WW. Likely to pass Fast Five WW.

Secret Life of Pets 2 - $413M: Will finish with less than half of the WW total of the first movie ($875M WW).

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - $241M: Rollout still beginning internationally, but where it is out, it's big. Watch this continue to go up over the next few weeks. $80M behind Inglorious Basterds.

Rocketman - $190M: It's not apples to apples to compare to Bohemian, but that made $900M, on a $215 domestic take. Japan did not pan out the way they wanted to especially since Bohemian made $115M+ there. Will finish just shy of $100M domestically and $100M worldwide. Japan's opening weekend was $2M.

Yesterday - $131M: Run is pretty much over, but really solid. Danny Boyle's 2nd highest grossing Domestic release, and 3rd highest grossing WW release. Looks like The Beach is out of range WW.

Angry Birds 2 - $76M: Cost was only $65M, but this isn't great, especially domestically. The first made $352M WW, so this is likely to end up significantly short. China is flopping compared to the first movie.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark - $72M: Not bad for a $25M picture, but didn't pick up any steam. It was more expensive than a lot of the "low budget" stuff.

Crawl - $71M: Movie cost something like $15M. This is a good hit then.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold - $62M: Some markets still to come, but the foreign release so far has been bad. Not what they wanted for a potential franchise. Budget was $50M.

Good Boys - $50M: Doing well domestically. International isn't much in play. Cost was $20M.

Midsommar - $35M: Less than half of Hereditary's WW total. This was a pretty big disappointment despite the small budget. Re-release won't increase this total.

Art of Racing in the Rain - $26M

47 Meters Down 2 - $18M: The first didn't get an international release and this is limited. So essentially the domestic take is what we have here, and it isn't good.

The Kitchen - $14M: Goodness.
