Houston was also never getting a player of the caliber they were asking for from Miami. They may have gotten Miami to agree to Stills, maybe one of the RBs fighting for a roster spot, and a draft pick. Clowney wouldn't have signed off, though, and it never made sense for Miami in the first place.

It really sounded like their only options were Philly, Seattle, or convince Clowney to go somewhere else. I doubt that would be Miami.
