Maybe it will but I doubt they'd change it. The gov would try any stunt at this point to put a floor under the housing market, and people buying

houses achieves that. Governments don't really think about what's best for the individual 5 or 10 years down the road, they live in the here and now, dictated by an election cycle. Their economic policies can best be summed up in one word; Consume!
