Which points away from an actual object and toward sensor artifacts.

Or what were mistaken as UFOs in the past are now easily identified, but new things are now cropping up and going unidentified because of differences in what and how new tech functions

It seems unlikely that actual alien craft capable of evading today's tech would have been caught by older tech
