lived in a high rise apartment that had unobstructed views to the west of the city. You could see planes flying constantly into and out of O'Hare (as well as just flying over the city). One night we saw something out the window that seemed in relatively the same distance as planes flying by, but instead of multiple flashing lights it appeared to be one solid colored light that changed colors and was flying 5-10 times faster than the other planes. His view was pretty panoramic so we could see it for a bit, but it was just dramatically faster than anything else we saw. No idea what it was, but we pretty much freaked.
