On our Roku, the guide is great. It's like a traditional grid where you can see what is coming up later that evening on every channel, etc.
However, on our Sony TV that has the Hulu App on it, the guide only shows what is on each channel at that time and what is on next. That's it. So you can't scroll ahead to decide to DVR something. You have to know the title of the show ahead of time to do that.
Apparently it's getting updated item by item, but it hasn't made it's way to our brand of Sony television yet.
