I know that’s it’s subject to interpretation and I’m certainly not saying this costs him a single one vote of his core supporters (not even a half of one).
But I do think that people disgusted with corruption in government that aren’t partisans paying attention all the time (they’ll pay attention in a year), there’s a potential there to move the needle at the ballot box only (if you mean it won’t move the needle politically I agree— as long as the gop gets tax cuts and judges they’re all in)
