Right. I think his narcistic disorder is so strong that he literally disassociates himself from his lies. Even as he lies he immediately believes it

to be true. Or at least believe that it's ok to lie about it because it's within his power to lie. That's why McConnell is almost worse. He knows it's all lies and all the damage that's being done, but cynically goes along because it suits him. They're both evil but in different ways.
