buddies, sorry, I had a meeting! I have three quotes for HVAC. the configuration of my house is really the issue. (more if you care)

my dining room is a converted garage off the galley kitchen. at the other end of the kitchen is the old dining room ("reading nook;" it's less than 50 square feet) and THEN the house opens up to the living room. I *maybe* could get enough heat out of a living room unit to heat the dining room, but the fourth unit guarantees even heating (which I don't have now).
the attic needs its own unit - even though it's 230 SF, it's essentially a whole different house on top of my house due to the way the space was converted. a unit in the attic helps to keep the living room warm. note that I also hope to add sprayfoam insulation in most of the attic this year.
so that's 3. and then there's the hallway that houses the bedrooms that's completely separate from the house (of course) -- that hallway has no outside walls so a unit to heat those rooms is going in my bedroom.
I'm getting smaller units (9K BTU vs 12K) but there's honestly no way I could do less than three and I don't want to gamble not getting the fourth.
two of my quotes say exactly the above. the third suggests ONLY units in the dining room and the attic which is madness.

You should probably just mount a jet turbine on the side of the house -- nm

Get the Madness contractor to make a bet with you before giving him the job. If it is not enough, he has to spring for the difference but if it is,
