They come in to testifying at the trial under protection then leave again

The 6th amendment right to confront accusers has always trumped everything else including in mob and kid rape trials but yeah basically the person is hidden and protected (and in this case is hidden by law not just by an ad hoc determination of danger) and then shows up at the trial
In a criminal case typically the judge will order the prosecution to turn over the name of the accuser with enough time to prepare the cross examination for trial
