See I don't think it's a "mistake" at all (except maybe miscalculating how people would respond here).

"One of the largest" is a broad statement without defined paramaters. It could easily be used for top 20%. You can bet that a law firm ranked 18th in the Am Law 100 would say it's one of the top firms. It's puffery at worst, but in this case was intended for a specific point. I don't think there was anything that was a mistake about it though. I'd be quite surprised if he made that statement without knowing the facts surrounding it.
