It depends on the question asked. A lot of people now identify as "spiritual" rather than religous, and the number that self-identify as "Christian"

According to a recent Newsweek article (April 13 issue) about 15% of Americans claim no religious affiliation.
The percentage self-identifying as Christian has dropped 10% since 1990 to 76%. Jews represent 1.2%, Muslims 0.6%
A separate poll found about 3.6 million people identifying as athiest/agnostic, a 4 fold increase since 1990.
