The "anger" if you want to call it that comes from the fact that I feel both statements were pandering.

The first pandering to those who don't believe or don't want us to be a "Christian nation" I mean I can't think of any other reason to say it in the first place, and the second pandering to true Muslim countries in the Middle East. I don't think he misspoke, I think he made a calculated statement that he had to know was wrong to artificially draw commonality with other "true" Muslim nations when there were better, more factual, more honest ways of doing so.

But no, neither of those statements hinder my ability to practice the religion of my choice.
