In response to "How much do you think AEW is benefiting from just being new?" by Will Hunting

I think that's a good question that's hard to answer. So far, the story angles and match selections/set-ups are very good.

They set up Omega/Moxley during AEW's first PPV. It still hasn't happened yet. Last night, the two of them were opponents in a tag team match. When they literally butted heads, the crowd lost its collective mind.

A few months ago, they set up PAC vs. Hangman, but that fell apart because PAC was respectful to Dragon Gate. He didn't want to lose clean as their champion. So, Hangman flew to England to do a quick DQ and then later jobbed cleaned to PAC, as did Omega.

Last night, PAC didn't want to lose his undefeated record when Mox brought out weapons. He stopped his partner from getting a DQ and was promptly beaten up because of it. That's...I mean, that's realistic. WWE hasn't had that kind of realism in ages if ever.

But the storyline that fascinated me the most was that they had Luchasaurus suffer an injury *yesterday* before the biggest match of his life. A Boy and His Dinosaur was facing the Lucha Brothers. The crowd is head over heels in love with Luchasaurus, but AEW somehow produced an emergency match with two tiny little dudes, Luke Perry's kid and Marko Stunt (who legit might not weigh 100 pounds). Out of everything, that made me feel good about how they plan matches and angles.

I think that they're benefiting from being new and different, but I also think that they're maximizing the opportunity. That's what is important.
