No stress. No politics. Few worries about malpractice. No demands to make partner or be a rain-maker.


Much more collegial kind of "we're all in this together" atmosphere. All the intriguing legal research and writing of being an attorney without all the crap. And a pretty good salary to boot.

Although, I think it depends on the big firm, come to think of it. The firms where I worked as an associate or as a contract attorney may not be representative of the profession at large. So ... I should've said "a paralegal at one of the big firms where I previously worked."
